SibFU and Dongbay University signed Memorandum of Understanding

A delegation from Dongbay University of Finance and Economics visited SibFU to see the university and sign a memorandum of understanding.

Sergey Verkhovets, Vice Rector (Research and International Collaboration) signed the memorandum on the part of SibFU.

«Enhancing the interaction among the universities and research organizations of the Asia Pacific Region is a priority for SibFU's international collaboration. We have signed several agreements with Chinese technical universities and the universities with social sciences departments. Currently, 200 Chinese students are enrolled in SibFU's educational programmes. SibFU's potential lets us increase their number», — Sergey Verkhovets said.

Universities intend to enhance their research connections and promote academic exchange.

«We already have the experience of collaboration with German universities. We intend to start our collaboration with Russian universities signing a memorandum of understanding with SibFU. We are ready to receive the first group of students this summer. Our wish is to make them acquinted with Chinese culture and Chinese companies ready to employ Russian workers», — Director, Department of International Cooperation, Jan Yuizi said.

The sides discussed the possibilities of academic exchange with and without tuition fees. Jan Yuizi said that there might be situations when the Chinese university might waive tuition fee but Russian students will have to pay accomodation costs.
