SibFU Student wins two golds at FIS Alpine European Cup

Aleksey Bugaev, a student of the School of Physical Education, Sports and Tourism, Siberian Federal University, won two gold medals at the 1st stage of FIS Alpine European Cup among athletes with a lesion in the musculoskeletal system and visual impairments. Competitions were held on 7–8 November 2019 in Landgraaf (Netherlands).

Aleksey Bugaev (Russian Federation), our athlete, shared the winners podium with Thomas Grochar (Austria) and Aleksey Mikushin (Russian Federation) upon the first race, and with Hilmar Örvarsson (Iceland) and Aleksandr Alyabiev (Russian Federation) upon the second one.

In total, more than 100 athletes from 21 countries were on track. Following the outcome of the 1st stage, Russian alpine skiers took 4 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals and won in the team event. Let us recall that Aleksey Bugaev is a three-time champion, three-time silver medalist and bronze medalist of the Paralympic Games (2014 and 2018).
