SibFU obtained international accreditation for its Master's programmes at the School of Business Management and Economics. Experts approved of the Master's programmes in Management, Economics, and Information Studies.

The experts are from the European Council for Business Education and they assessed SibFU's programmes from 20 to 22 October 2014. The team of experts included Drs Robert Rietbroek (the Netherlans), Professor Bob Johnson (the UK), and Professor Polona Tominc (Slovenia). Experts examined the programmes' curriculum, looked at how students communicate with their teachers, discussed independent learning, the role of employers in developing curriculum, faculty evaluation, transparency of students' educational results. They also looked at learning environment. There were interviews with faculty and students, the experts examined rooms where classes are conducted, they visited the student canteen and dormitories.

«External review is an important event that proves the quality of educational programmes, encourages development and promotes growth,Irina Bagdasaryan, Deputy Head (Graduate Programmes) at the Institute of Business Management and Economics, says. — Meeting European standards is a challenge. We had the accreditation experience in 2011, it was much easier this time. The team of experts spent three days assessing our work and we received four-year accreditation. Previously, study programmes were only accredited for three years».

The international accreditation demonstrates that Master's programmes at the Institute of Business Management and Economics, SibFU, satisfy the requirements of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) as set out in the Bologna Process.

SibFU's representatives will receive accreditation certificates at the International Conference on the 20th anniversary of the European Council for Business Education in May 2015 in Belgrade, Serbia.
